Welcome to today’s blog post! Isn’t this a fun birthday card? I used the Nothing’s Better Than stamp set and the Love You More Than Dies. This bundle has a bit of a retro look and is just fabulous! I was cruising through Pinterest and saw a design very similar to this. Pinterest always seems to spark my creativity!
Let me tell you how I made this card…it’s so easy.
Cutting:
Basic White Thick cardstock: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. Score @ 4-1/4″. This is your card base
Basic White cardstock: 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″
Stamping:
Stamp your sentiment on the upper left corner of your Basic White layer. Next, stamp your glasses in Memento Tuxedo Black ink (I stamped on scraps of white cardstock I had in my stash). For your second stamping step, fill in those glasses. The inks I used: Bermuda Bay, So Saffron and Calypso Coral. For the darker colors, I stamped off once on a piece of scrap paper before applying to my image. Using one of my blender pens and the ink pads, I darkened the bases and filled in the tops of the glasses. Don’t forget to fill in the lime/ lemon wedges and the umbrellas!
I used a Blending Brush and my Bermuda Bay ink to add a bit of color to the background.
I flicked a bit more of color onto the cardstock using my Stampin Blends. It looks a bit like confetti.
Die Cutting and Embossing:
Using your die cutting machine, cut out your glasses. Don’t they look festive? Next, run the Basic White layer through your machine using the Subtle 3D embossing folder. This seems to be my “go-to” embossing folder. If you don’t have it, put it on your list!
Let’s Put This Card Together:
Adhere your Basic White layer to the card base. Next, glue your glasses in place, popping at least one up on dimensionals. Next, add some bling and this card is done!
Not only is this card colorful and fun, but easy to mail!
