Candy Gift Box

Hello and welcome to today’s blog post! I have been wanting to make a few gift boxes for both upcoming birthdays and Easter. I found this one on Connie Stewart’s (Simply Simple Stamping) website. Keep reading to learn how I made this easy and super cute candy box. I also did a video showing how easily this comes together–follow links below. I did use Blackberry Bliss in the video, but, forgot to take pictures as I went along. This one is in Daffodil Delight.

Your cardstock should measure 5 1/4″ x 8 1/2 “. Score following the template below.

Now that your cardstock is scored, snip along the short side. Cut your tabs at an angle. This makes for a clean, sharp edge.

Fold the tabs over and glue in place. In the video you will see that I used the Stampin’ Seal. I would recommend the Tear & Tape instead. I just happened to run short of that this week.

For the inside layer of the lid, cut a strip of DSP @ 6 7/8″ x 1 1/4″ . Glue in place

For the outside of the upper lid, cut your DSP @ 1 1/4″ x 10″. Wrap around the top of the lid, fold over the bottom tabs and glue in place.

For the band: cut coordinating cardstock (I used Granny Apple Green) at 1 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ Wrap around the center of your closed box, slip off, glue in place. You want this snug but able to slide on and off with ease.

Stamp your sentiment, and punch out…watch the video to see tips on making the punches work for larger sentiments. I die cut some leaves, attached the tag with ribbon and this project was done.

Isn’t this just a super cute gift? I hope you give it a try. I like to have extra little things in the house to give to those unexpected guests. The most exciting thing—as soon as the video was done, I found that Easter stamp!! Isn’t that always the way…hahaha.
