Hello! Today’s card is a sympathy card using the Painted Poppies stamp set. I just love this stamp set and I am so happy it carried over from our mini catalog. You can find it in our newest catalog (2020- 2021) on page 18. This stamp set coordinates with the Painted Labels dies on page 177.
Card Recipe:
~ Cut card stock at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” then score at 4-1/4”. I used Cajun Craze for my base. While you have the Cajun Craze out, cut 3 squares at 1-9/16” x 1-9/16”. (Connie Stewart at Simply Simple Stamping has an excellent tutorial on how to read a ruler).
~ Cut Whisper White card stock at 4-1/8” x 5-3/8”. I ran this piece through my die cutting machine using the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing folder.
~ Cut a strip of Old Olive card stock at 1” x 4-1/8”. I had some old ribbon that I ran across the front and adhered to the back of this.
~ Using your Layering Circles dies, cut a piece of Whisper White and Poppy Parade. If you do not have the dies, use the appropriate sized punch for your card.
~ Run the Whisper White 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ piece through your die cutting machine using the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing folder. You could skip this step, although I do like a bit of texture to my cards.
~ Now to stamp! I stamped my images in Poppy Parade. I love that speckled pattern using the Old Olive at the base of the flowers and over the sentiment. I colored in the stems and leaf using Old Olive ink and the flowers using the Dark and Light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. I think these colors gave this card a nice, soft look.
~ Adhere everything together. Pop the flower images and sentiment up on dimensionals and add some bling.
