Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper Desk Caddy

Hello and welcome to today’s blog post! This was a fun project to make. I did a Facebook live video demonstrating how easily this comes together (see link below). To be honest, this is my craziest video yet…hahaha. No internet access, dogs barking and me not be able to measure anything right the first time. So, I laughed my way through it all…just me keeping it real:)

I did use my Simply Scored Scoring Tool, but our Paper Trimmer also has a scoring blade.

To make the boxes:

For the larger box:

Cut Night of Navy cardstock @ 8-1/4” x 6-1/2”. On the short side, score at 1″ and 5-1/2”. On the long side, score at 3″ x 4″. Using your bone folder, burnish those score lines for a nice, crisp edge. Cut the little squares into tabs. Don’t forget to give a little angle to those tabs for easy, clean folding.

Cut your Paper Blooms DSP @ 4/14″ x 4″ (cut 1) and 3/4″ x 2-3/4″ (cut 2). This DSP is available during Sale-A-Bration. Isn’t it lovely?

Use Tear & Tape (or the adhesive of your choice), place on the inside of the tab and lower fold. Fold up, adhering the tab first, then the outside piece to form your pocket.

Add your DSP to the inside and outside side panels. I used multi-purpose liquid glue for this.

Dimensions for the medium box:

Cut card stock at 6” x 5″. Score the short side @ 1″ and 4″ and the long side @ 3″ x 4″.

Cut DSP @ 2-3/4″ 2-3/4″ (inside panel), 1-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ (front panel) and 1-3/4″ x 3/4″ (side panel).

Follow same directions as large box for assembly.

Dimensions for the small box:

Cut card stock at 6” x 3-1/4”. Score short side at 1” x 2-1/4” and long side at 3” x 4”.

Cut DSP (for the front and inside panel) at 1” x 1-3/4” (cut 2) and at 1-3/4” x 3/4” (cut 1 for the side).

Follow same steps as above for assembly.

Glue your DSP to the front of the boxes and then the sides. Next, using Tear & Tape, adhere the two smaller boxes together at the center and then adhere to the larger box. They do not line up evenly on the edges. Again, that Tear & Tape has great holding power!

To finish, I wrapped a ribbon around the boxes. Using the Dragonfly Punch, I punched out a dragonfly from the Dandy Garden 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. I added one Champagne Rhinestone for a little extra!
