Hello and welcome to today’s blog post. My goal this year is to send more birthday cards and the Quite Curvy Bundle and Playing with Paper Designer Series Paper go perfect together! Both of these cards came together in a flash.
Card Recipe:
Let’s Cut Some Paper:
Calypso Coral cardstock @ 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. Score @ 4-1/4″. This is your card base.
Playing With Patterns Designer Series Paper @ 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″. Cut another strip @ 1/2″ x 4″.
Whisper White cardstock @ 5-1/4″ x 4″ (cut two–one is for the inside of your card).
Die cutting:
Using your die cutting machine and the Curvy Dies, die cut 1 of the Whisper White pieces. I used my paper trimmer on the flat side so I would have a 1/2″ gap between the two pieces.
Punch:
Using the Balloon Bouquet punch and the Playing With Patterns DSP, I punched out a few balloons. I love these patterns–they really add a fun element to the cards.
Stamping:
I stamped my images using the Quite Curvy stamp set and Night of Navy ink. The inside sentiment is from an old Sale-A-Bration stamp set: Sending You Thoughts. I always hang on to my sentiment sets. Can you really have too many?
Don’t forget to stamp the outside of your envelope. It adds a little “extra”.
Finishing this card:
Glue your card layers together using the adhesive of your choice. I used white twine on the balloons. I glued the larger balloon down and popped the smaller two balloons up on dimensionals. I used a mini glue dot to anchor the twine down. Add some bling (I love the Wonderful Gems) and this card is done!
My second card is simpler, but still lovely.
