Throwback Thursday—Blended Seasons Christmas Card

Hello! Today’s card features the 2018 Blended Seasons Bundle. I’ve said it before–I love this bundle. This is such an easy and beautiful Christmas card to make. This card goes fast, therefore lends itself to making a lot at once. Making things in volume is now more important to me than ever. I will be sending out A LOT of Christmas cards as we won’t be seeing as many people in person this year. I know we will all get through this, but, ya know…..

I don’t know why the lines around the leaves look so dark–must be my marvelous photographic and editing skills–hahahaha. It looks much softer in person.

Card recipe:

Cutting:

Cut one piece of Real Red cardstock at 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. Score at 4-1/4″

Cut one piece of Old Olive cardstock @ 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″

Die Cutting Machine:

Using the Tufted Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing and Old Olive cardstock, run this through your machine. Make sure you line up the pattern. If you don’t have this folder, just search your stash for something that will work.

Now to die cut! Using the Blended Seasons dies and the now retired Under the Mistletoe DSP and the still current Shimmery White cardstock, cut one each using the appropriate dies.

Stamping:

I used my Stamparatus to make sure I had my images lined up properly. I think its time to change that scrap paper out!! I didn’t realize how bad it was until I saw the photo. Yikes!

I used Memento Tuxedo Black to stamp my images. Give this just a second to dry as the next step is coloring.

Coloring:

Using Old Olive for the leaves, Real Red for the berries and Crushed Curry for the little buds, color in your image. Use what you have. I used a combination of my markers and blends. When using my markers, I tend to use a water coloring technique: put a touch of ink on a block and pick up the ink with a Blender Pen.

I did add a hint of Wink of Stella over the colored buds.

Let’s Finish:

Wrap your favorite ribbon around the center of your Old Olive textured cardstock and adhere. Now, glue the other pieces together. Put everything together, add a little more ribbon and some bling and this card is done.

As a side note: I did not use any dimensionals on this card for ease of mailing. Of course, if you want to pop any part of this up, it would sure be a nice, added touch.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card. Until next time, Happy Crafting. Colleen
