Throwback Thursday! How to Make an Easy Shaker Card using the Snowman Season Stamp Set and the Snowman Builder Punch

Hello and welcome to today’s card. Do you remember me saying I was going to be able to share with you some new ideas from our OnStage event? Well, this easy shaker card is just one of the new techniques we all learned. Keep reading to learn how easy this is to make.

Let’s get started:

Cutting:

Shaded Spruce cardstock @ 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. Score @ 4-1/4″

Shimmery White cardstock @ 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″

Let It Snow DSP @ 4″ x 5-1/4″. This DSP is retired, but there are new and wonderful choices in the current catalog.

Stamping, Coloring and more:

Stamp your snowman, arms and the hat using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I made a template using my Snowman Builder Punch so I could stamp everything all at once.

Stamp your sentiment. I love the sentiments in this stamp set!

Color in the snowman’s nose and hat using various markers. Once completed, use glue dots to put him together.

Punch out your sentiment. I like the Timeless Label punch, so that’s what I used. I really like the red glitter paper so I had to punch out a piece of that too. Adhere the glitter paper behind the sentiment to create a shadow effect. Can you really have to much glitter on a Christmas card??

Let’s get ready to shake:

Grab one of your clear medium envelopes (found on page 153 in the current catalog). Place your Designer Series Paper inside of the envelope making sure it fits snuggly along the bottom edge. Add your bling to the inside of the clear envelope. I used a little bit of all of my odds and ends. You will see some snow, snowflakes, gold, green and white. Make it fun and use what you have.

Now to tape it up. To start, fold the flap of the envelope over. Before you seal it up, make sure you press the excess air out. My 1st attempt looked a little bloated…hahaha. Once you have this sealed, fold over the top and side to wrap tightly around the DSP. Use scotch tape to hold in place. You definitely want this to hold tightly to the Shimmery White cardstock, so use Tear & Tape adhesive along the back.

**Before you adhere those two layers together, wrap some ribbon around the shaker layer. A little ribbon always makes everything a touch more festive! **

Let’s finish this card:

Adhere all of your layers together. Pop your snowman and sentiment up on dimensionals and this card is done!

Isn’t this an easy and fun shaker card?!! It almost has a retro feel to it. I hope you learned something new and will give this one a try.
