Tip Tuesday: How To Make Two Card Bases From One Sheet Of Paper

Hello and welcome to this Tuesday’s tip. This post is designed for new stampers and paper crafters. I clearly remember when I was a new paper crafter and had no idea where to begin or even how to make card bases. Yikes–I’m sure I wasted a bit of paper!

I use a standard 8-1/2″ x 11″ piece of cardstock to begin.

For the first two card bases, place the short edge of the cardstock against the top edge of your paper trimmer and score @ 4-1/4″. Next, rotate your paper and cut @ 5-1/2″. This will give you two card bases measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Fold along the score line.

For the next two card bases, score @ 5-1/2″ down the long side of your cardstock. Rotate and cut your cardstock at 4-1/4″. Your card base still measures 4-1/4″ x 11″. Fold along the score line.

You can watch my YouTube video if you would like to see me demonstrate this: https://youtu.be/D3OfvNjfT8s. Please give a like or a thumbs up! Follow me on YouTube by touching the subscribe button.

Both of these cards fit in a standard, medium envelope. If you are in need of a paper trimmer, you can follow the link below to my online store.

Have a wonderful day and happy crafting! Colleen
