Do you ever wonder what to do with all of your Designer Series Paper? You know, the odds and ends we generally have left over? This Scrappy Starburst card is perfect for a quick and easy card using your leftover supplies. For this card, I used the Peaceful Poppies DSP (recently retired). Let me explain how easily this card came together.
~ Start by cutting your card base at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”. Score at 4-1/4”. I used Thick Whisper White card stock.
~ Next, cut a piece of the regular Whisper White card stock at 4” x 5-1/4”.
~ Cut 3 pieces of your Designer DSP at 5” x 2”. If you have a pattern that needs to be placed in a particular design, you may need a few extra pieces to get that lined up properly. You will also need a couple of small scrap pieces for the bottom corners.
~ Place the DSP (on an angle) on your paper trimmer to cut into triangles.
~ Start placing these pieces on the Whisper White card stock (start with the two middle pieces), leaving a small gap between the triangles. Once you have your design figured out, start gluing these papers down. I tell you, I don’t think I can ever get things straight, so I am happy this is a forgiving pattern!
~ Now to trim off the excess!
~ Ta-Da! Everything is in place and trimmed. I wrapped some twine around this layer and then glued to the thick Whisper White card base.
~ Add a sentiment and some bling and this card is done! As an afterthought, I added some Wink of Stella to the berries for some extra sparkle.
